HR Manager, Talent Acquisition and Development, Port of Long Beach, CA

Summary: Under guidance of the Assistant Director of Human Resources, the Manager of Human Resources (Talent Acquisition & Development) is responsible for administration of talent acquisition, employee engagement, and learning and development programs. They will develop, recommend, and implement strategies necessary to achieve the Port’s Strategic Goal #6: Attract, develop and retain a diverse, high-performing workforce. 

They will be responsible for full-cycle recruitment of classified and unclassified positions within a Civil Service structure. The incumbent will be responsible for administering, organizing, and conducting learning and development programs for nearly 600 Port teammates. This includes performance management, succession planning, and career development. They will create and facilitate learning programs and courses for leadership, management, and Port teammates.

They will also support employee engagement by creating, communicating, and maintaining thoughtful and timely employee engagement activities; designing and distributing high quality/on- brand employee communication materials; and building and fostering effective relationships across business functions throughout the Port complex to ensure Port teammates are engaged and informed.

Location: Long Beach, CA (on-site position)

Required Skills & Experience: At least five years of progressively responsible professional level human resources experience.  At least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity is a required.  To be considered, candidates MUST have extensive experience applying learning and organizational development theory and techniques.  Public sector experience strongly preferred.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. Professional HR certifications a plus.

Compensation: Base annual salary range $145-155K, plus excellent benefits.

General Manager, Information Technology

Summary:  The General Manager (GM), IT will be a key business partner for the Chief Strategy Officer to develop, plan, and implement information technology (IT) strategies that satisfy the company’s business needs, deliver optimal financial return on expenses, and maintain utmost security while being aligned with overall corporate IT strategies and policies.  This role will provide leadership and tactical support to the organization and work more broadly with leaders throughout the company who will deliver business initiatives to address the most important opportunities and challenges. The GM, IT will also drive tracking and reporting against key IT CAPEX and OPEX initiatives to promote visibility, transparency, and accountability in project performance and eventually drive value delivery.

Vice President of International Operations

Summary:  An established and recognized name in the third-party logistics space is seeking an experienced ocean carrier operations leader with a strong entrepreneurial orientation to join the executive team.

Reporting to the Head of Global Operations, the VP, International Operations is the organizational leader of the international operations teams on the west coast, providing direction, guidance, corrective action, and support to each of its members, with support of the general, product and departmental managers.  The position has a fiduciary duty to the company to ensure client retention, financial health, staff development and organizational goals are met.

The position will oversee operations in multiple countries and will oversee people structure and strategy, operational and system enhancements, and future office growth opportunities.

Location:  Any west coast location (Los Angeles/Long Beach area preferred).
