April 8, 2024 — EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, is proud to announce the promotion of Vice Presidents Mark Gutberlet, P.E., BCEE and Jen Martin Bouchard, P.G., PMP, to Business Unit Director. Mark is now leading the firm’s Facilities Compliance and Engineering Business Unit, which provides consulting for water/wastewater, stormwater management, solid waste, coastal resilience, industrial hygiene, air quality, environmental compliance, safety, sustainability, and technology solutions throughout the eastern United States. He succeeds Sarah Ridgway, who was recently promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer. Jen leads the firm’s Pacific Unit, which provides the full array of EA’s services to federal, state, local, and private sector clients from operations in Alaska, California, Guam, Hawaii, Montana, and Washington. She is taking over the role following Chris Canonica’s promotion to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Mark Gutberlet | VP, Facilities Compliance and Engineering Business Unit Director
Since 2013, Mark has led the Mid-Atlantic Engineering practice, specializing in environmental infrastructure. With 29 years at EA, he has managed projects totaling $340 million in construction costs. Active within the industry, Mark serves on the Board of Directors for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America and is a long-time member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Mark is a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer in Solid Waste Management and a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, Tennessee, and Virginia.

 

Jen Bouchard | VP, Pacific Business Unit Director
Jen is a Senior Geologist with more than 24 years at EA. She was promoted to Seattle Profit Center Manager last year and will continue in the role alongside this promotion. Jen specializes in hydrogeologic investigation, remediation project planning, program management, performance-based remediation, environmental assessment, and site remediation. She holds a Bachelor of Art in Geology from Franklin and Marshall C ollege and a Master of Science in Geology from Utah State University. Jen is a licensed professional geologist in New York and Tennessee and a certified Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. She is also a member of the Society of American Military Engineers.
