Vice President of Sales, Ocean Carrier

Summary: Reporting to the President, the VP of Sales is a member of the Senior Management Team and leads the container business focused sales team.  He/she will be a “next level” sales management professional, with proven success both as a front-line salesperson and in leading, developing and mentoring a high performing sales team.

This position sets the strategic direction for the sales team and is also responsible to provide coaching, support, and resources needed for the sales team members to be exceptional contributors.  The VP will periodically travel with his/her team members to coach and mentor and foster best in class service to customers.

Location:  Tacoma, WA (area)

Experience Requirements: At least 10 years of business development experience, with at least 5 in a senior management capacity, preferably in transportation and/or logistics.  An exceptional reputation and proven success leading and developing a sales team is a must.  Of critical importance in this role is coaching and leading.  The successful candidate will be able to illustrate examples of strategic, consistent, and systematic coaching in previous sales management positions.

Educational Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Compensation:  $200-220K + bonus and excellent benefits.

Director of Operations, Marine Terminal

Summary:  Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of Operations will provide the leadership and direction for the marine, yard, gate, and rail operations for the terminal. He/she will develop long term goals and objectives with profit and loss responsibility for operations ensuring high levels of customer service, efficiencies, productivity, and safety while achieving operational and financial goals. This position supports the VP of Operations in setting long-term goals and strategies for the company.

Location: Tacoma, WA

Educational Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience Requirements: Fifteen years progressively responsible experience in stevedoring and/or terminal operations management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.  Previous management of union personnel is required.    The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with labor industry officials, customers, vendors and all levels of staff and labor.  He/she will be adept in a fast-paced environment and able to lead, delegate, coach and train a large team while adhering to and perpetuating the goals and values of the terminal.  Familiarity with terminal operating and financial systems, terminal, stevedore and vessel operations equipment (and related physical and safety procedures) is a must.  Requires the ability to analyze collective bargaining agreements and interpretation of intent, spirit, and terms of contract to apply on the job safety standards.
