March 4, 2021 — The Port of Stockton is seeking an exceptional leader to guide the organization under the direction of a seven-member Board of Commissioners. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished, senior level maritime professional who will oversee all commercial and operational activities for the Port in collaboration with an experienced team of seven senior executives (Directors).
Location: Stockton, CA
Experience & Qualifications:
At least 10 years’ of increasingly responsible experience in the maritime transportation or logistics industry with a minimum of five at the executive level.
Executive level experience should include directly managing a team/organization similar in size and scope to the Port Director’s accountabilities (7 Director level direct reports and overall organization size of 110 personnel).
Experience successfully managing the P&L of an organization or business unit similar in size and scope to the Port of Stockton.
Experience developing and managing a complex budget with exposure to public finance/funding strongly preferred. The Port of Stockton posted FY 2020 revenues of nearly $60M.
Experience in both commercial and operational maritime activities with background related to attracting commercial maritime related port expansion is preferred.
Specific experience with bulk/breakbulk cargoes and port related real estate projects is strongly preferred.
