Director, Strategic Projects, Marine Terminal

Summary: Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Strategic Projects will lead all strategic project management initiatives to successfully achieve the terminal’s operational objectives and long-term vision. He or she will formalize the establishment of project management goals by focusing on the strategy, planning, and execution of all aspects of the company’s project portfolio, including lease negotiations, facility upgrades and extensions and equipment upgrades and automation.

Location: San Pedro Bay Port Complex (Ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach)

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering or business degree is desirable.

Required Qualifications and Experience:  At least seven years’ project management experience (preferably within the maritime industry) with extensive technical, administrative, business planning and vendor management background. The ideal candidate will have high level knowledge of terminal equipment, hardware and software, possess exceptional analytical skills and have experience successfully transitioning facilities or departments from a conventional to an automated operation.

Chief Operating Officer, Marine Terminal

Summary: Reporting to the CEO, the COO is responsible for managing all operational aspects of the company and will assist the CEO in the aggressive and successful growth of the company.  He or she will provide the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems to effectively grow the organization and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.  The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company.

Educational Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred.

Required Qualifications and Experience:  At least 10 years’ experience in a maritime or manufacturing environment with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.  The ideal candidate will be a proven executive level leader with experience guiding and coaching high level direct reports and creating a positive, high-performing environment.  Experience with automation and technology improvement is strongly preferred and a hands-on leadership style with a high level of business maturity is required.

The Port of Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team.  This position will develop the strategic direction of the Information Technology (IT) Department and plan, organize, and direct the activities and operations of the IT Department, covering a broad range of functions including but not limited to, creating technical business systems and solutions to support operations while providing support to the PCCA organization.

Location:  Corpus Christi, TX

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field with equivalent experience from an accredited college or university preferred.

Required Qualifications and Experience:  The preferred candidate should be a strategic thinker, an organized, thorough, and disciplined individual with a focus on maintaining optimal integrity in support of the PCCA.  They must possess the following: Ten (10) years management experience in Information Technology, development, implementation, operation, and support of Information Technology systems in an IBM Power 7 computer, VMware, SAN, File/Servers, SQL database applications, PCs applications and Network environment, LAN (Local-Area-Network), WAN (Wide-Area- Network) Wireless technology and Cloud Architectures.

Preferred background in accounting systems, Port operations, J. D. Edwards ERP Software, Port Traffic & Cargo System, and electronic document imaging software.
