November 28, 2022 — In response to international carbon reduction trends and sustainable development goals SDGs, Kaohsiung Port Branch has been actively promoting the development of renewable energy since 2010, renting out roof suppliers in the port area to install solar photovoltaics, and planning to set up projects in Kaohsiung Port, Anping Port, The self-built renewable energy system, energy storage system and smart energy management system (energy management system (EMS)) in the four port areas including Budai Port and Magong Port are expected to be completed by the end of 2014, and the annual self-generated and self-consumed electricity can reach about 6 million kWh , reducing carbon emissions by about 3,000 metric tons, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and creating green value.

Through the introduction of EMS by this branch, AI and scientific governance methods are used to carry out energy management and energy-saving measures. In the short term, we will take stock of the current types and status of electricity consumption in the port area. Renewable energy can be used to replace fossil fuels. With the increase in the proportion of self-built renewable energy power generation systems in Kaohsiung Port and its three subsidiary ports, EMS integrates distributed renewable energy systems and energy storage systems to comprehensively analyze the demand for electricity on the demand side. Supply the electricity required by the port facilities and maintain the stability of the power supply in the port area.

Kaohsiung Port Branch takes “Smart Technology” and “Green Energy Sustainability” as an important direction of operation, promotes smart management to control port energy, cooperates with the growth of renewable energy grid-connected scale, increases the utilization rate of green energy, and integrates economy, environment, Ecological and social aspects, to improve the sustainability of the development of Kaohsiung Port, and move towards the sustainable development goal of a green port.
