Davies Transportation Consulting Inc. (DTCI) is a Vancouver-based firm providing a broad range of transportation consulting services. Specialties include drayage, port operations, goods movement and land use, intermodal facilities and shortline railways, and economic analysis and program review.

We specialize in the leadership of multidisciplinary teams capable of undertaking large and complex projects encompassing transportation economics, logistics, social impacts, environmental issues and technology. Project teams typically consist of associated consultants with extensive experience in their respective fields. This approach enables DTCI to maintain an exceptional quality standard while providing maximum value to clients.

We provide focused research on a variety of transportation related topics to clients based on the extensive multimodal experience of the firm’s principal, Philip Davies. About Philip Davies

Philip Davies is a transportation economist who has over thirty five years of experience in market research, freight planning and intercity passenger transportation. This experience includes six years in strategic planning and marketing with the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan, and eighteen years as a Senior Economist with Transport Canada. After leaving Transport Canada, he served as Senior Consultant at the Vancouver, BC office of IBI Group. From November 2007 to September 2008 he was Vice President of Halcrow Consulting Inc. Mr. Davies is now Principal of Davies Transportation Consulting Inc. in Vancouver.

Mr. Davies’ experience spans the public and private sectors in market analysis, planning and logistics. Since starting his consulting career in 2006 Mr. Davies has completed over 80 projects, 48 of these as Project Manager. These have included major studies on multimodal transportation, goods movement and land use, port trucking, port operations, intermodal facilities and shortline railways, economic analysis and program review, and aviation. Clients have included Saudi Railways Organization, Transport Canada, the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation, the Ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, Vancouver, Prince Rupert, Seattle and Portland, local governments, and private sector clients.
