November 11, 2020 — Best Best & Krieger LLP Of Counsel Christina Morgan, a rising authority in privacy and data security issues, was named a Next Top 40 Business Leader finalist by the San Diego Business Journal. This list recognizes the energy, drive and accomplishments of talented professionals in San Diego who are under age 40.
Positioned at the forefront of privacy and data security issues, Morgan has helped businesses and public entities across Southern California navigate this emerging area of law. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and routinely counsels private and public sector clients on a variety of privacy laws, including the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act. Morgan helped launch BB&K’s new Privacy & Cybersecurity practice.
As an ardent litigator with a decade of experience, Morgan has secured many successes. Recently, she obtained summary judgment in favor of clients in a quiet title action and secured their access to drinking water at their desert residence. She has also successfully defended against plaintiffs’ attempts to stop an Arizona client from operating his legitimate competitive business. She has also obtained summary judgment for an attorney in a legal malpractice action which was affirmed on appeal.
Morgan is also an active member in her community. She is a member of the Alumni Council and the San Diego Alumni Representative for the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University. Morgan is the main point of contact for local Barrett alumni, as well as current and prospective students. Morgan helps families of prospective students learn about the college, connects honors graduates with one another, works in collaboration with the ASU Alumni Association chapter leaders and facilitates connections among the entire Barrett family in the San Diego region.
