Ken O'Hollaren, Executive Director, Port of Longview, Washington USA
Ken
O'Hollaren has served as Executive Director of the Port of
Longview, Washington USA since 1988. Ken joined the Port in
1980 as Assistant Operations Manager, later becoming the assistant to
the Executive Director. Prior to joining the Port, Ken
worked as Operations Manager for Overseas Shipping Company and
Evergreen Line in Portland.
Ken is the immediate past Chairman
of the Board of the American Association of Port Authorities, a trade
association of public ports located throughout the western
hemisphere. He is also Chairman of the Columbia River
Channel Coalition, a multi-state coalition of ports, businesses, labor
unions, and agricultural groups that has successfully promoted
Columbia River channel deepening.
Ken earned his
BA from the University of Oregon in Political Science and Latin
American Studies in 1977, and an MBA from the University of Portland in
1987.
John Turner, Port of Umatilla Commissioner & College President
John
Turner retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Colonel after 28 years
of service, including time as President of the Marine Corps War College
in Quantico, Virginia. John commanded infantry units,
participated in combat operations in Kuwait, served as professor of
naval science at the University of Nebraska, worked on the NATO staff
in Belgium, and was an executive fellow at the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology. Upon
retirement from the Marine Corps in 2003, John joined Blue Mountain
Community College as Executive Vice President and Provost. In
2005, he was appointed President of the College. John was also
subsequently elected as a Commissioner for the Port of
Umatilla, Oregon USA. He recently returned from a trade mission
to several countries in Asia. John
earned a Master's degree in International Relations from Catholic
University of America and is a distinguished graduate of the U.S.
Marine Corps Command and Staff College. Bill Hanson,
Vice President, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company William Hanson
has served as Vice President for Business Development of Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company since 2006. He joined GLDD in 1988 as an Area
Engineer in its Staten Island Division Office. Bill
began his career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Galveston,
Texas and Los Angeles, California, and then with Connolly Pacific
Company in Long Beach, California, USA. He earned a B.S. in Ocean
Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1979. Bill is
currently the Chairman of the Western Dredging Association and is a
board member of several industry trade associations.

| APP PEOPLE: WOODLAND NAMES NEW DIRECTOR | 
The Port of Woodland, Washington USA
recently welcomed Nelson Holmberg as their new executive
director. Holmberg replaced Erica Rainford, who will return to
private sector employment after leading the Port for two years.
Holmberg
previously served as communications manager for the Port of Vancouver,
Washington USA for three years, in addition to previous employment at The Columbian and The Oregonian newspapers, and Koopman Ostbo Marketing Communications.
