JAMES MATAYOSHI ASSUMES APP PRESIDENCY

Republic of the Marshall Islands Ports Authority Chairman James Matayoshi (left) became APP President on June 1.  Under the APP By-Laws, the first vice president replaces the president in case of resignation.

2010-11 APP President Mario Cordero was recently confirmed as a Federal Maritime Commissioner, and therefore required to resigned both his Port of Long Beach commissioner role and his APP presidency.  Since the full slate of 2011-12 APP officers will be elected and installed next month at the Annual Conference in Long Beach, this will be a smooth transition.

Congratulations, President Matayoshi!

Thank you for your dedicated service to APP, Commissioner Cordero!

KEELUNG NAMES NEW PORT DIRECTOR GENERAL

Keelung Harbor Bureau in northern Taiwan recently welcomed Fu-Nan Chen as their new director general.  Chen replaced Chun-Yu Wang (who led the Port for the past year) and former APP President Ding-Hsun Hsiao (who led the Port for the prior five years).

Congratulations, Director Chen!

Best wishes in your new ventures, Director Wang!
