FRANCISCO FLY-IN SEMINAR: EARLY REGISTRATION ENDS THURSDAY
|
|
 Learn more about
actions your port or business can take to return to greater prosperity
as the global economy strengthens. Economists will provide detailed
outlooks and insight into what to expect in the next year and beyond.
Marketing strategists will help you develop tactics to achieve your
goals in the current economic environment. Port officials and industry
leaders will share their success stories of how ports of all sizes can
grow. Don't miss this timely event!
Two examples of our outstanding Seminar speakers:
Jill Rodby, Principal
Rx2 Marketing Communications
With over two decades
of maritime and logistics marketing and business development expertise,
Jill supplies the type of strategic counsel that enables clients to
break through the mixed-media clutter and capture market leadership.
She was among the first wave of women to ever work in steamship
industry sales. She's held positions in ocean shipping, seaports,
freight forwarding, air cargo and B2B print and electronic media. Jill
most recently was the Vice President of Communication for Commonwealth
Business Media and OAG; Maritime Marketing Manager at the Port of San
Francisco; Regional Marketing Manager at Tricom Shipping Agencies; and
Regional Sales Manager at Interocean Steamship Corp. Jill is a past
president of Women in Transportation and the Pacific Transportation
Association, and on the Board of Directors of the World Trade Club. She
was instrumental in the fundraising and marketing of the independent
film documentary produced by Maria Brooks, "Shipping Out, the Story of
America's Women Seafarers." She earned a B.S. in Marketing from San
Francisco State University and is completing her M.S. in Integrated
Marketing Communications at Golden Gate University.
Wenxiang
Lu, Deputy Consul General
Chinese Consulate, San Francisco

A native of Shanghai, Mr. Lu graduated from Futan University in 1974
and immediately joined the Chinese Foreign Ministry. He received his
first overseas assignment in 1979, working in the Chinese Embassy in
Iran. In the three years during this assignment, the war between Iran
and Iraq took place, along with the captivity of American diplomats.
Since then, Mr. Lu has been posted in Chinese embassies in Cairo,
Washington, DC, and London. He became Deputy Consul General in the
Chinese Consulate in San Francisco in July, 2008.
This Seminar
begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 2:30 p.m. -- with free shuttle
service between SFO Airport and the Seminar -- so you
can easily fly in and out the same day. Continental
breakfast, lunch, and refreshments are included. You'll also have
opportunities that day to network with your port colleagues from
throughout the Pacific.
Seminar registration fees are just $150 for APP members and $250 for
non-members. Register by October
